JANPALACH is a screamo/emotional post-hardcore band from Odesa, Ukraine which professes conceptualism in its lyrics and develops the so-called "intellectual punk rock". For those who aren't familiar with Czech history, the band is named after Czech student Jan Palach who burnt himself to death in 1969 in protest against the Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia. On their debut EP they feated with former vocalist of Amanda Woodward, after that they released several singles and splits and not so long ago first full-fledged album "Celestials" saw the light of day. According to the musicians when creating it, they were inspired by such bands as Gillian Carter, Birds in Row, Cassus, Drei Affen and Potence.

Na kontě mají debutové EP Sensation, na kterém hostoval bývalý zpěvák francouzské kapely Amanda Woodward, několik singlů a splitů (s être nebo Cyclamen) a loni vydaný dlouhý debut Celestials. Jak členové JanPalach přiznávají, inspiraci hledali u kapel jako Gillian Carter, Birds in Row, Cassus, Drei Affen nebo Potence.
