feminist * hardcore * punk * queercore
Feministické queercore-punkové trio Shooting Daggers má pořádně našlápnuto už od prvního singlu Manic Pixie Dream Girl, který vyšel loni v říjnu na New Heavy Sound. Tenhle nekompromisní londýnský hardcore, plný mladické nasr*nosti a oproštěný od bezduchého pozérství, si s každým odehraným koncertem získává další a další punková srdíčka. UKHC zase rulez.
You could say that feminist/queercore punk trio Shooting Daggers have been ‘nailing it’ since the release of their first single on New Heavy Sounds (Manic Pixie Dream Girl) dropped in October last year. Already a name to watch and a ‘must see’ on the homegrown punk circuit, the single received a host of love from press folks.
Without doubt, they are ‘the real deal’. Fierce and committed in what they believe in, as how they play. This is shit kicking UKHC full of youthful fury and shorn of vacuous posturing, which continues gaining fans with every gig.
Their most recent release from May this year, the ‘Athames’ EP, which caught the attention of the likes of The Fader, Stereogum and Metal Hammer, is six tracks of visceral hardcore punk with a message, full of spit and fury, venom and hooks, and coupled with enough twists and turns to go way beyond a straightforward heads down mosh and thrash.
Since last year Shooting Daggers have gone on to play 4 shows with Amyl and The Sniffers including two nights at London’s Electric Ballroom, alongside being one of the highlights of this year’s Desertfest. 2022 also saw the band perform for the first time outside the UK with dates in Denmark and Romania. In July Shooting Daggers are also set to tour the UK with hardcore-punk band Axe Rash.
